MAKARSKA riviera of Dalmatia is the middle part of the Adriatic coast of Croatia, a long stretch of coast about 1,000 km in length. In the center of Dalmatia the Makarska riviera is located, it lies about 60 km south of Split and covers 70 km from Brela all the way to Gradac.
Makarska riviera belongs to the most beautiful regions in Croatia and it is probably the favorite one among our tourists. It is a place of long pebble beaches, pine forests and old cities and towns, which offer picturesque cultural and historical sights.
The most famous resorts are Brela, Baška Voda, Makarska, Tučepi, Podgora, Živogošče, Drvenik, Zaostrog a Gradac.
The town of Makarska is the best known place in the Makarska riviera. The tourist center is located on the base of the slopes of the majestic Biokovo Mountains with the highest peak St. Jure, reaching to 1,762 m above the sea.
The tourists are attracted mainly to fascinating natural scenery, crystal clear sea, the temperature of which stays around 26 °C.
